Case Summary:
Gary Parson, an "at will" employee of Sikorsky Aircraft, files suit after he is terminated or refusing an assignment. Parson turns down an assignment to the middle east during the Gulf war. Parson claims in his lawsuit that the Connecticut law requires that employers exercise reasonable care in providing safe workplaces for employees. Sikorsky files a motion to strike Parson's complaint.

Decision of lower jurisdiction:
This is the first judicial review of this case.

Outcome:
Parson loses. The Superior Court of Connecticut, Fairfield grants Sikorsky's motion to strike all counts. The court rules that as an "at will" employee Parson is not protected under state law. Parson had the right to refuse the assignment and Sikorsky had the right to fire him for refusing the assignment.
