Corrections, drugs, random testing.

Kendall Smith appeals a revision to his probation order that introduces a provision for random drug testing. Smith plead guilty robbery in the first degree. Smith had told authorities he committed the crime to get money for drugs. A year after he was granted probation, state officials revised the terms of probation to include a random drug testing requirement. Smith appeals the order changing the terms of his probation.

Officials with state's department of adult probation ordered a revision to the terms of Smith's conditional probation order.

Smith loses. The Superior Court of Connecticut dismissed Smith's appeal as moot. The court cited state statute that permits the reasonable revision to orders of conditional probation.
