Buffington appeals his conviction on charges of cocaine possession. Police arrested Buffington for driving under the influence. He consented to a blood test, which revealed a presence of cocaine. Authorities charged Buffington with cocaine possession and introduced his test results at trial.

Over Buffington's objections, a district court allowed state prosecutors to introduce evidence related to his drug test. Buffington argued his blood sample was mishandled and should have been barred from the trail. The court found Buffington guilty. He now appeals.

Buffington loses. The Georgia Court of Appeals affirmed the lower court's ruling to allow the test results as evidence. The appeals court let stand Buffington's conviction.
