Stanley McMiller appeals his conviction on trafficking drugs. McMiller repeatedly sold cocaine to an undercover police officer. Roseann Solomont, a police informant, urged McMiller to make the sale to the police officer. McMiller's defense attorney later charged the police entrapped McMiller. The defense attorney asserted that prosecutors cut a deal with Solomont on a separate violation if she worked with them to convict McMiller.

A trial court rejected McMiller's defense of entrapment and found him guilty as charged. Claiming prosecutors denied his defense attorney full access to Solomont, McMiller now appeals.

McMiller wins. The Massachusetts Appeals Court at Middlesex overruled the ruling of the lower court. The appeals court ordered the verdict of the lower court set aside and remanded the case for appropriate action. The court ruled McMiller did not receive a far trial.
