William Turck, a former officer with the St. Cloud Police Department, appeals a lower court's decision affirming his termination from the force. Department officials moved to terminate Turck's employment following his arrest for driving under the influence. His supervisors noted the charge was the most recent in a series of violations. Turck appealed his firing to the St. Cloud Civil Service Board. The panel affirmed the department's decision to terminate Turck's employment. Turck subsequently filed suit, claiming department officials violated established policy.

A Stearns County District Court upheld the decision of the civil service panel. Turck now appeals.

Turck loses. The Minnesota Supreme Court affirmed the decision of the lower jurisdiction. The court ruled the district court correctly upheld the decision of the civil service board.
