Lisa Lee appeals a lower court's ruling concerning her suit against several physicians and two medical facilities. Lee sought medical attention and was hospitalized following a series of problems in her personal life, including a divorce. Lee eventually was admitted to a mental health facility. Following Lee's hospitalization, her ex-husband petitioned the court to gain permanent custody of his son. The court transferred custody to the father. Lee subsequently filed suit against the doctors and medical facilities, claiming negligence and other charges. The defendant's responded with a motion for summary judgment.

A Hinds County Circuit Court granted defendant's motion for summary judgment. Lee now appeals.

A split decision. The Mississippi Supreme Court reversed in part and affirmed in part.
