They are mandated by the Dept. of Transportation to drug test any individuals that work on "ticketed airplanes", which means an airplane that is sold to a customer already but has not flown off Boeing property. Of course Boeing has distorted the recquirements by drug testing many individuals that do not even work in the area that airplanes deliver out of. The IAM union is currently pushing the company to abide by the guide lines as they are written. They will also approach individuals with a breathalizer at the same time they ask you to pee. I of course dont think people should be getting stoned at work but I also feel that what I did last weekend at my home is anybodys business but mine. But as we have seen big business will do whatever they are allowed to get away with. I have been drug tested once to get me into the system but have never been selected for a random test, many of my co-workers have |
