Outpost is a co-op grocery store. All non-union employees
are subject to testing (maybe union employees are tested
by now, I don't know). The official line is that tests are
requested if impairment is observed. The reality is that
almost any report from almost anyone is considered as grounds
to request a test. All non-union employees were required to
sign a form agreeing to a test if one is requested, and told
that not signing the form is grounds for dismissal. I was told
by legal aid that in the state of WI there are no laws governing
workplace drug testing and that a company could do what it wanted. |
