Linda Thompson appeals her conviction on charges that she attempted to forge two prescriptions. Thompson and a friend submitted two prescription to a local pharmacist. The pharmacist recognized the doctor's name on the prescription but realized the signature was that of the doctor. The pharmacist verified the prescriptions with the doctor's office and learned the office had no record of the documents. The pharmacist notified local authorities. Thompson picked up the prescription when it was completed and later was arrested after she left the drugstore.

A trial court found Thompson guilty of attempting to forge a prescription. Thompson argued the court erred in allowing introduction of the prescription forms as evidence. She now appeals.

Thomas loses. The Virginia Court of Appeals affirmed the ruling of the lower jurisdiction. The appeals court ruled that the lower court addressed the issues involved in the case in an appropriate manner.
